Who is the course aimed at?
Electrotechnicalcraftspersons who need to develop and demonstrate their competency in the selection, installation, inspection and maintenance of electrical apparatus in explosive atmospheres, through an internationally accredited, certificated competency validation scheme.
How will I be assessed?
The assessments are both practical and written. Each candidate is required to demonstrate competence through a series of practical tests and online multi-choice question, with successful candidates receiving a CompEx Certificate of Core Competence.
What is the validity of CompEx certification?
The CompEx certification is valid for 5 years from the date of conferment.
How do I register?
For course registration, candidate is required to fill in registration forms with the targeted course date, experience and qualification details. Candidates must also provide copies of qualifications and CV / employer endorsed letter to substantiate their experience in the relevant discipline. CompEx certificates of core competence will only be issued where candidates have satisfactorily achieved the required benchmark of core competency to work safely in explosive atmospheres ad determined by JT Limited.
What are the similar schemes available in the market?
What is ATEX 137 Directive?
ATEX 137 or 99/92/EC concern with the health and safety protection of workers in a hazardous environment and these duties are placed upon the employers. This directive does not address personnel competency which CompEx is addressing.
